The Second Law of Traffic; Spawn Backlinks
By Gideon Bankole of Untoppables International
In my last post, I stated that the first law of traffic was to create great content. And that’s the simple truth, because “first impression counts.” But it is possible to have terrific content and a worse-than-terrible traffic! And this is case with most people. Or how on earth will someone ever discover your “great content” if they don’t even know your site exists in the first place? So, now that you have created great content, you have to give yourself a voice! I mean you have to make people know that your site exists for them to benefit from, and drive traffic to the great content you’ve created! This is important for SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Below are 10 simple but effective ways to generate the first impressions to your site; 1. Alert other search engines about your blog each time you make a new post on your blog at • http://www.pingomatic.com 2. Write articles and submit to article directories with your URL for back links • www.ezinearticles.com • www.articlecity.com • www.articlejoint.com • www.goarticles.com Please note – that you must be very cautious with this type of service online. You do not want your article being submitted to just any article directory websites because that could damage the ranking of your website. Know the places in which your website is being submitted and be sure there are no “red flags” for that directory website. You do not want your website linked to one which has a red flag. You can check for this at: http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/. You just type in the domain name and it will tell you any and all security warnings or red flags. 3. Submit your blog to search engines like • www.google.com/webmasters • www.siteexploer.search.yahoo.com/ • www.alexa.com/site/help/webmasters • www.qondio.com 4. Submit your RSS feed to directories like • www.avangate.com/articles/rs...oris_58.htm • www.manhattanservice.com/net...directories/ • www.rssspecifications.com/r…bmission.htm • www.pheedo.com 5. Add your blog to open source directories • www.dmoz.org/add.html • www.forum.authorityblogger.com • www.blogrush.com/sign_up • www.zimbio.com 6. Join http://groups.google.com/group/blogger-help 7. Join online communities and social networking sites to advertise your site • www.myspace.com • www.fuelmyblog.com • www.outpost-earth.com • www.ping.sg/blogadd.com Here is a link for the list of social networking sites, http://www.quickbase.com/db/9f72vfg?a=q&qid=1 8. “Digg” one of your posts at www.digg.com 9. Comment on other high ranking blogs with your URL. Do not spam 10. Write informative articles about your blog and submit to article directories with your URL
